I have just finished readin...Yeah medical factoids! I have just finished reading a book called Burn Unit by Barbara Ravage. It was so good, if a little squeamish-making at parts. It's interesting because one of the reasons that burns are so devestating is the fact that the body reacts so wildly to them. The majority of the care that goes into the first couple of weeks of a major burn is around stabilizing the body's metabolizm so that it doesn't do as much damage as it could while they get the burn wound itself covered.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
